Design Process

THE CS&G EXPERIENTIAL GRAPHIC DESIGN APPROACH

When we say we are solutionists, it's because we are at the intersection of opportunities
& solutions.  CS&G utilizes multidisciplinarytalents to communicate with the proper visual response.

Known best for our signage systems we have hands on expertise in materials and technics
that few have. Our 40 years of experience shows in designs that stand the test of time.
Our work is creative yet pragmatic with results to be proud ofwhileshowing tangible ROI.

We actively listen and come along side with viable scenarios to address your needs.
Those solutions involve a wide range of communicative tools.
We wholly endorse the collaborative process believing that our collective
disciplines andperspectives produce the finest results.

To the right is a great before and after example of a CS&G solution,
thisHospital's primary site sign was considered adequate but certainly
not the image/visual impact the Memorial Health System wanted.

COLLABORATE:
It All Starts With Active Listening
"When a team takes ownership of it's problems, the problem gets solved, it is true on the battlefield, it is true in business, and it is true in life."
Jocko Willink

We want to hear your unique perspective, to know what your goals are. What does Return On Investment (ROI) mean to you?
What is the ruler to measure success?

We encourage input from your project team:
In-house, designers, tradespeople and all key stakeholders.

We meet you at the intersection of OPPORTUNITIES & SOLUTIONS

Your Budgets, Your Timelines, Your Messages, Your Needs!

NEEDS ANALYSIS:
Define The Target, Set Parameters
"I believe that if you show people the problems and you show them the solutions they will be moved to act."
Bill Gates

A good diagnosis of needs often makes the action plan clear. It unifies the team and lays the foundation for implementation of responsive solutions.

Research comes in many forms:
  • How are you and competitors doing it now (what works/doesn't)
  • Review construction/expansion/marketing
  • Key stakeholder & intercept surveys
  • Review of marketing/development plans
  • Review of industry best practices
  • Codes & special constraints

PRELIMINARY CONCEPTS:
LookAt Multiple Viable Scenarios
"Design is a way of life, a point of view. It involves the whole complex of communications: talent, creative ability , manual skill, and technical knowledge. Aesthetics and economics, technology and psychology are intrinsically related to the process."
Paul Rand

CS&G design team member's each contributes design recommendations/input and we present you with a range of solutions that have various strengths and perspectives. Our job is to layout the options, discuss the merits and give you all you need to make an informed decision. This often will involve actual prototypes to evaluate in the field.

Not that we are shy about making recommendations but we are here to be a part of the team.

DOCUMENT PREPARATION:
Refine Designs & Develop Action Plans
"The guy who knows about computers is the last person you want to have creating documentation for people who don't understand computers"
Adam Osborne

In this world of visual pollution we filter things out, each message/story we convey needs to be precisely placed for the targeted audience yet must relate to the overall scheme.
While the plan itself is not usually not the solution the plan and associated details must be articulated to a number of disciplines and individually.
Much as an orchestra has extremely talented individuals, each skilled in what they will contribute to the overall piece. Sheet music under the conductors orchestration brings uniformity and deep richness to the finished product. Often timeless yet allowing for updates and variations to suite the current needs.

IMPLEMENTATION
Results That Make Everyone Look Good
"Plans are only good intensions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work"
Peter Drucker

Getting things done on time, on budget, and as you expect it does not happen without proper project management and communication throughout the project.

Its about relationships and results build those relationships, our clients know they can count on us to take care of their needs for the immediate and future needs.
